The Wand is a state of the art digital or computer assisted anesthetic system. Sound fancy? Well that's because it is.

Essentially a computer controls the dental injection flow rate, which means the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady which increases your level of comfort.

The stinging sensation often associated with injections is usually caused by the fluid being injected too fast but as The Wand regulates the flow rate this factor is eliminated. 

So what does it look like? Well it's a far cry from the old fashioned metal dental syringe that has seen little change since its invention more than 150 years ago.

It is actually a small computer unit with a thin pen like hand piece attached that your dentist will actually hold more like a pen. It is light and easy for the dentist to handle and he or she will control it with a foot pedal which is connected to the computer. The slow delivery of anesthetic is often very accurate and the dentist will be able to start work immediately. It can be used slightly differently from a syringe too because it enables your dentist, for some treatments, to numb up just one tooth with no numbness to the lip, cheek or tongue. You can leave the dental surgery being able to smile, drink as normal and return to your normal daily routine.
